We ARE the OpenUI Consortium. With the help of Levi Corcoran (former STARBASE-21 senior developer), we designed and implimented the OpenUI User Interface for Miva Merchant. The OpenUI is a massive step forward over the stock MMUI User Interface.
The OpenUI is one of the driving forces behind the recent explosion in the number of Miva Merchant modules and module developers in the Miva Merchant 3rd Party developer market. It starts with the same Look & Feel as the MMUI, but includes thousands of "hook points" that allow any other Miva Merchant module to plug-in to modify what the shopper sees.

As the original developers and founders of STARBASE-21, we were instrumental in the development of over 150 Miva Merchant modules, covering Miva Merchant versions 1.x thru v4.x.
We were the first to market canned Miva Merchant add-in modules with simple "plug-in" installation. This was done with our SBUI and AdminPlus for Merchant v1.x, and was improved upon with our OpenUI interface, originally released for Merchant v2.x.

We started by simply sponsoring the original Holodeck-3 (created by Rob Chen). It quickly became one of the most popular websites on the Net, spotlighted on MSN's front-page (and in many tech magazines and website books).
In 1997 (after the disappearance of Rob Chen), we headed up a complete redesign of the site, providing an updated look & feel. Eventually, due to personal time constraints with the advent of STARBASE-21's eCommerce modules, Holodeck-3 was transferred to it's current owner.

A fully multi-threaded, windows-based scheduler. It supported "plug-in" actions that could be written by multiple vendors, with a complete license system.
All "jobs" and "actions" were configurable thru a standard interface, and access is controlled by the license keys.

Back in 1995, we were the first to introduce web-hosting starting at $5/month. This was before the days of virtual servers and "friendly" hosting companies. We gave "everyman" the opportunity to setup an affordable website.
